Ahhhh, Bed time.

As I have said before, Jaxon really loves his bed, he loves to sleep, nap, and all things crib- related! We had two different babysitters this weekend, one for a date, and one for the temple. Both said that Jaxon is the easiest to put to bed of anyone they have ever babysat. So, a few nights ago, Jaxon had an early bath because he was FILTHY From playing outside. When he got out, it was still about 15 minutes till bedtime, but I didn't want him to go back downstairs and get all riled and involved in toys or a video. So, Dave went down and got some books, and we had "special reading time in Mom and Dad's bed" Jaxon thought that was pretty cool! (On the whole, we don't spend a lot of time in there as a family...) so at 7:30 I said, "Okay, it's bed time. You get to sleep with mom and dad tonight!" I was under the impression that this was every kids dream, and although I was just teasing, I wanted to see if he would get super excited. I turned off the overhead and bedside light and pulled the covers over the three of us. Jaxon started Bawling!!! I'm talking real tears! He was saying, "PEASE GO MY OWN CRIB! NO SLEEP WITH MOM AND DAD! NO LIKE DIS BED" PEASE GO MY OWN CRIB...PEASE!!!!" Seriously? Who is this kid? As soon as I turned on the bedside lamp and he could see, he shot out of our room so fast he was a blur. When we got into his room he was holding onto his crib for dear life! He could barely keep his head on my shoulder for a song because I think he was afraid I might try to take him back into our bed with him. What a kid.

Temple pics...

I have decided to sell some of my temple pics, and I really wanted to name this blog entry
"I Love to Sell the Temple" as a little play on words...but it just seemed to blasphemous!" I have included one more angle that I have worked on and I will also include them on my everydaylovephotography website so you can see everything available. Here's the thing, I am not going to sell "unlimited printing rights" as in, here's the picture on disk, do whatever you want with it...that's why I watermarked them. So if you are interested in a picture of the temple, I will order it for you.

Here are the prices-
8x10- $10.00
11x14- $20.00
16x20-$30.00

I can also get bigger prints, so if you are interested, just ask. The company that I will be printing through is excellent and highly regarded by photographers as doing flawless work. (We are not talking Walmart or Walgreens here)
Obviously, these prices are for the picture only, and does not include matting or framing.

I love to see the temple!

My good friend (and web designer extraordinaire), Lauryn, asked me to take some shots of the temple for her, and I really loved doing it. Here are a couple, and there are more on my photo blog. What am I going to do with them you ask? I'm not sure yet!

My FANTASY Man...

Help, I don't know what to do! Dave just lost his #1, numero uno, star fantasy football player because of an injury. I hate football, but even I know who Tom Brady is... (mostly because of his scandelous relationship with Gizelle B. while another girl was pregnant with his baby...don't say I don't keep up on current events!) BUT BACK TO THE DRAMA! Dave is CRUSHED! He doesn't even want to talk about it, WHAT DO I DO??? DO I pretend to know anything about Fantasy Football and ask what he plans to do? Try to talk locker room strategy? Do I not say anything, because...let's be honest, I hate fantasy football season and maybe this will make him less interested in it? Oh my goodness, a black cloud has befallen the Rogers household!

FRIDAY FAVS!!!

I have L-O-V-E-D reading the Friday Fav's on Christi and Kelly's blogs. I learn all sorts of useful information about random products and foods, and also some fun quirks of some fun girls! I have been compiling a mental list for some time now and I finally have enough to do a Friday Favs!
#1. CRYSTAL LITE ON THE GO PACKS
These little babys have no calories and GREAT TASTE. I reuse water bottles for the gym, and while I am not a huge plain water fan, I can easily drink my 80 ounces when flavored. Dave and I also use them at home for water bottles with dinner and later at night. Jaxon likes them too, and asks for "Mommy's 'Favorite' water" because he doesn't quite understand when we say "flavored." I do have one secret though, I actually like the generic Walgreens versions way better, and as an added BONUS! They are only $1 for a box of 10 packs, vs. about $3.5o for Crystal light!

#2-WATER BOTTLE ICE TRAYS
Keeping with the water bottle theme, these things ROCK! I hate warm water, especially in the summer, but freezing a water bottle with some water in it makes everything taste funny (freezer taste, YUCK!) and even freezing cold water doesn't stay cold very long in this heat. Trying to funnel crushed ice into a water bottle was NOT my favorite thing to do, so when I came across these trays I WAS IN HEAVEN!!! You can get these at IKEA, and they are made from a very bendable plastic, so you can really just bend the ice right out! One tray fills a water bottle nicely, and WAH-LAH! Ice cold water bottle!

#3- QUAKER MINI DELIGHTS/<>
These little flavored popcorn cakes pack a DELICIOUS PUNCH!!! They are only 90 calories a bag, and the flavored toppings are TO DIE FOR!!! My two favorites are Cinnamon Streusel, and CHOCOLATE MINT! I am not exaggerating here, the chocolate mint drizzle tastes EXACTLY LIKE GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!!! I dare you to try it and say I'm wrong! I like that they are crunchy for when I am feeling a little snacky, and SWEET to satisfy the sweet tooth. After having a bag of these, you honestly feel like you have had a substancial snack! (Bonus: they are kid sized and Jaxon loves them!)

#4-Mr. Clean Wipes
While I am not easily swayed by clever marketing on television, there was one commercial that really got me! Picture a mother who just cut raw chicken. Some nasty chicken juice spilled on the counter and she wiped it up with a rag. Later, she picks up that same rag to wipe down the door handle on the refrigerator and it turns into a piece of raw chicken in her hand, (She of course is oblivious) and she continues to wipe down the fridge with a piece of raw chicken! That commercial was actually for Clorox wipes, but after trying all the different kids, Mr. Clean is by far the best! Each individual wipe comes easily out of the container (This CANNOT BE SAID for Clorox wipes) they have a nice clean scent, and they DO NOT leave any little tiny lint pieces all over (This also CANNOT be said for Clorox) I always use these as a final step in wiping anything up. I will clean the surface, then wipe with these germ killers!

#5 HOMEMADE BREAD
I know I have been on a bread kick lately, but here's the thing. We have been trying really hard (well I have been trying since I'm the cook and shopper around here) to eat as many whole foods as possible. I have not gone crazy with this, and we are still pretty normal eaters (see the quaker cakes and crystal light...) but I figure, Heavenly Father made some good things for us, so I should try to get them as un-adulterated as possible. The problem with bread is that the 45- calorie stuff tastes like GARBAGE, and the good whole-wheat kind at the grocery store isn't actually ALL whole wheat, and there are TONS of additives, AND it's high in calories. There's always the bread store option, but it's WAY to expensive for normal family use. So when I tasted this delicious bread I was so excited. It only has 7 ingredients- the two main ones being water, and freshly ground whole wheat flour. Each slice is large and filling and actually DELICIOUS, and still only has 90 calories. The calories aren't even that important, because it's about putting good things in your body! I made it again today and it turned out even better!! Apparently I left one of the rising steps out last time, but HEY- it was still SO GOOD!

CROQUET!

Two weekends ago while I was in Utah, Jaxon and Dave bought a croquet (or as Jaxon says, "OKAY!" set) They have thoroughly enjoyed it, and I have feigned ignorance to knowledge of the game and told Jaxon that only daddys play croquet! (to get out of playing in the middle of the day in the scorching sun.) Well, tonight we broke down, and I happened to have my camera downstairs, and fun and hilarity ensued. Jaxon loves to play a game where you stand behind him and help swing at the ball...only to miss wildly! He then laughs hysterically and falls all over the place while you try to hold him up and do it all again! That's what these pictures are! It's nice to finally have some pictures with my little guy! (thanks Dave, your camera skills rock...although Jaxon did say tonight, "DAT NOT DADDY'S CAMERA! DATS MOMMY's CAMERA!")

Bread recipe--REVEALED!!!

Let me prefice this recipe- when my SIL gave me a copy, it have 5 directions on it, some were just lengthy. Since I am not as of yet Betty Crocker, I tend to leave things out if there are several directions given at once. Thus, I seperated them all, and there are now 12 directions. I'm telling you, it's really so easy because the Bosch does all the work. Once again, if anyone makes this in other than a Bosch, please let me know how it turns out. I don't actually own a Bosch myself, and am "borrowing" my mom's while she is in China!
