Remember Fall break 2011?

For fall break, Jaxon and I have a tradition of going to visit my bro and SIL in Minnesota!  Traditionally the weather is SUPER CRAPPY the weeks before we get there, and then it warms up to a lovely 70 with fall colors and a cool breeze. This past year did not disappoint.  We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful weather, scenery, and company, by spending as much time as possible OUTSIDE, especially consider we left 100+ temps back home.  Jaxon and Katie are really REALLY similar...which means 80% of the time they were best friends, and 20% of the time, well...they fought like siblings!  They really did have a great time together, and I'm so glad that Jaxon has such amazing cousins in his life!

This is how Jaxon and I read many a book in the backyard
We went to the greatest apple orchard where we picked our own apples and raspberries, ate apple donuts and drank apple cider, and had a great time just playing in the sunshine.

Just looking cute

The last couple days we were there it rained a heck of a lot.  Jaxon thought that was pretty awesome too!  He and Katie loved "making mud" and doing other dirty, messy things in the backyard.  It was still in the 50's and AnnaMarie and I didn't care as long as they were getting along!

On our last day there we went to a great outside nature walk. All I could think the whole time is "this place is free, and I could do the most awesome photoshoots here!!!"
It was rainy but not cold and we had a great time! We found a tiny frog which Jaxon named Hoppy, and was devastated to be told we could not bring him home to Arizona. I think he would have still been okay with it had Katie not accidentally stepped on Hoppy when we released him back to the wild... oops.

We absolutely LOVE and treasure this tradition, and if it continues, it will be a whole lot crazier!! AnnaMarie is due with twin boys any day now, and by next Spring Break I will have a 6 month old! That will make 6 kids under 7...YOWSA!!!!
