I have been told that Dave was a little cheap in highschool, actually I have been told OVER AND OVER AGAIN! That being said, he has always been very generous since I have known him. He is generous to me, others, the church etc. Well now, the accountant in him is coming out with a vengence! Dave refuses to let me turn on the AC, based solely on the fact that it is still March. Turning on the AC in March is like giving into "the man" and we just can't have that in this house. Could someone please tell the man, to kindly turn down the heat, so my thermomstat doesn't read 85 degrees??? Or tell my husband, that I might die of heatstroke!?!?! (I'm pretty sure it is possible to die of heat stroke, even if it is only March!)

At our house, I'm the stingy one that doesn't want to turn the AC on until the temperature outside gets to 100. Sad, I know. We have all our windows open and the fans are all on and I think it annoys the heck out of Donny since it's not safe to sleep with windows open so we have to go around and close them all at night. Good luck with that. :)
I'm a total miser when it comes to running the air, I've got a system. At 5:30AM I get up open windows and turn on ceiling fans. At 8:00AM I close all the windows and blinds and it keeps my house pretty cool all day long and we have no insulation, YUCK! Totally anal I know, but I like to think I've got to do something to contribute around here.
Dave sounds JUST like my dad. It's the PRINCIPLE of the thing! March is simply too early to turn on the air! Whichever cheap man first made up that rule should be shot. Who cares what time of year it is!? If we turned the heat off just because it's technically spring now, I'd freeze my butt off!! Thermostat settings shouldn't be dictated by the calendar, but by the temperature outside!! Besides, it's worth whatever few dollars more it costs to be COMFORTABLE in your own home for crying out loud!
Ashley, this is when you take out your lavalavas and get great use out of them. It's pretty much our summer wardrobe when at home. When we leave the house we change into "street" clothes..but once we're back in the house..everything comes off and the lavalavas go on. That and buy a fan for every room in the house. Fasi is hating me right now because I'm the same. I don't want the ac on just yet...it's like giving into the heat..hahaha!
Wow, it's hard to imagine needing AC when I'm wearing a turtleneck and still cold. But I really do feel for you 'cause being uncomfortable temperature-wise is, how shall I say?, uncomfortable.
So tell Dave to "buck up, Little Camper" and keep your woman cool. What can be more important. Ok, you're woman & child. That should only give you more ammo.
Come on, Dave. Don't be a piker.
That's funny. Brandt must be out of accountant mode because he is the one who always turns on our AC (I am the pregnant one!)
and by the way, I must say that the picture of the lady melting is a tad bit creepy.
This is hilarious because I'd have to side with Dave on this one. I would be the one opening the windows at night and then closing them in the morning so the house would stay cool most of the day....until it gets miserably uncomfortable! Stay strong Dave!!!
I have to be honest, I am not really concerned about your AC issue (my suggestion (which I followed) is to get out of 130 degree weather. Regardless of how many times you hear it from others or even tell yourself, Arizona only has good weather from mid November to February). I just wanted to post to bother you about your grammar-the saying is for pete's sake (reference to Simon Peter). Notice the apostrophe. I'm sorry. I just could not help myself since you are the one who is correct 99.99% of the time correcting my grammar.
I'm on Dave's side. We haven't turned our air on yet either. I'm soooo cheap. I'm so glad Jaxon wants to come live with Tate. He is welcome anytime.
